It’s Monday morning and I’m all excited to load the bime at 5:00 AM this morning, but I noticed that the trailer tire seemed a little low after I had just set the pressures in both of them plus the spare the night before. Wouldn’t you know Murphy’s law had to prove itself right again and I was faced changing out to the spare and plugging the main tire in the sidewall so we could get going. It was in the low 90’s even at five in the morning.

Oh well, she’s all fixed now and as soon as I have a nice shower and change out of my sweaty clothes, we can roll. We were only 23 minutes late from our planned departure time.

Our goal for the day was to make it to Beatty, NV. We did so after a short stop and visit with Sherm and Pat and a good Mexican Lunch.
Beatty already had a very good BBQ next to the Exchange Club, but now there is another little one across the street.

Eddie continues to add his unique and unrelated artwork to the exterior of the Exchange Club. The girl at the motel desk said it will open in two years. I smiled on the inside.

This tiny rig is advertising the sourdough place. I just took these pics for my friend John.

I’m just a small petite man and look how big I am next to it. :)

It reminds me of the mini they advertise the coffee shop in Cave Creek with.

I guess they sell Bread and Beer ?

I think that signs says this building was moved from Rhyolite and that it was used for several things at the same time, including being a brothel.

I kind of like the artwork on the Exchange Club even if I don’t understand it.

This is the original BBQ and is very good when I tried it.

The clockworks are artistic only and non functional in reality.

The metal pieces all cut out and welded together create the illusion of the portrait of a man when view from a distance.

Nice illusion
My guess is it’s a deep sea diving octopus

We have been riding through desert most of the way from Beatty, NV all of the way to Susanville, CA. From Susanville on it has become beautiful pine and fir forest.

This is my first time trailering my Gold Wing on an actual trip. Seems weird always seeing it in the mirror tailgating me.

Our first view of Mt. Shasta

We are sure enjoying the cooler temps whenever we stop for a break

She continues to impress us with her magnificence

Arriving at my Son and Daughter in Law’s place we started out with a walk through their flower garden. I think these are called Angel fishing rods.

I’m almost a genius, I knew right away that these were some sort of fushia.

The devils blowhole. If you get here at just the right time it will send an eruption of saltwater spray thirty feet into the air. In all of my visits which have been many over the years, I’ve only seen that once, but I keep coming back. lol

Eldo and Kristi took Jeannie and I to the Side Wall Cafe. That’s probably not the correct name, but the food was to die for.

Out of order, but we met up with Doug and Kathy for lunch at McMinimus on Cornelius Pass Rd.

My Son and his Wife. If I had been just a few seconds earlier, I would have caught them smooching! Those are guilty smiles if I’ve ever seen one.

Back at the sidewall cafe, the appetizer was phenomenal. I’m sorry but no pics of the actual meal which was incredible!

Meanwhile, back in the garden their crystal ball is predicting what their house will look like.

If only I could remember their names, the flowers that is, I know those two!!

Back at McMinivus, Doug and Kathy have arrived although in this pic, she’s leaving.

Maybe worth 2K-3K but asking around 10K

Meanwhile back at the beach a few surfers fighting over some very minimal waves.

You know it old when it is growing more moss than I am

Jeannie loves all of the plant variaties

Still can’t remember the name of the plant

I guess they both won!

Ahh, the joys of riding in a car compared to a motorcycle

Mo’s World Famous clam chowder that has become very average

Lot’s of potted plants as well

Doug and Kathy arriving at McMinivus

Beautiful Oregon Coast

Not even close to becoming extinct

Same coast, different direction

Free?

The fuchsia was putting on a pretty good show of its own.
