It started raining yesterday afternoon so we waited to fill up until this morning.
Sherm and I both lost our cameras yesterday due to old age issues…:). In spite of that it didn’t cast too big a shadow on the start of our trip. We rode a couple of hours from my house and stopped for breakfast in Superior, AZ at a place that utemike recommended. Excellent food! With a smile on our faces we hit the road.
In the Superior, Miami, Globe area there are a lot of old as well as current mining operations.
Between the communities are some very nice formations both natural and man made.
I have no idea how many yards of ore the big bed will hold but I would guess that the little truck placed inside it is at least a 10yd dump.
Taylor Freeze…Patience and I would always stop here for an ice cream cone. Don’t worry sweety…I bought two and helped you eat yours.
We were driving through the little town of Duncan and a few things caught our eye. First thing I wanted to do was go to this bakery and get a ‘Duncan Dognut’
Then Sherm decided he needed to eat some ‘Humble Pie’
This jet was set up as a memorial. Can you identify it?
Like riding the Mother Road, riding the ‘Old West Highway’ gives you quite a few glimps of the real old west.
