I’m finally off on my Alaskan adventure. I’ve got a new Sena 20 headset in this helmet. I wanted to test how far the bluetooth in the helmet would work from my phone.
It was still working when I crossed Hwy 93 to check out El Diablo, but it was starting to get a little static.
I’ve got a pretty good load on the back of this thing such that changes the handling a bit.
Nice used car lot down below.
I stopped by Pat and Sherm’s to pick up a backup camera that he said I could have. Ended up getting a top notch breakfast as well as a loaf of Pat’s homemade banana bread. Delicious!
This is the Acord family Ma, Pa, and Lulu
These are Pa’s bikes
Ken said a prayer for a fun and safe trip and then he and Sherm rode along for a bit.
Sherm snapped this picture at Crazy Horse and then he headed back home and I’m headed North…to Alaska!
The waters of Lake Mead sure reflected the blue sky today.
I even seemed to make the color of the hills more vibrant. Such a boring old desert. :)
I don’t know the name of this river, but it appears to be coming from North Las Vegas and flows into Lake Mead.
The other side of the road.
I love the way the artist has used such contrasting colors in this picture!
I find that I really like all of his work.
Even when some silly old man carves a highway through it, it still looks great.
And they are all FREE!
And this is only day 1 of 80
I’ve been very lucky on most of my motorcycle trips to rarely have to endure much rain. It looked like this might be a bad one, but I didn’t even get wet.
I got a room in Caliente, NV for $49 including tax.
Small, but very clean, everything functional, and excellent wi-fi.
