Sarah is enjoying the view across Cook inlet this cool morning.
It’s pretty steep looking down from the bluff above the bay
I like the simple fence made from post, fish net, and anchor rope.
We didn’t build a fire, but there was a very nice fire pit had we wanted to.
Sherm had asked for more pictures of the town as things have changed since he was here.
Sarah tells me there is something about Alaska Girls.
Sherm may have spent a night or two here after shore leave.
City Hall
Sign in front of…
When he left, Sherm just parked his old motor home here and left it.
I’m not sure if this was here back then.
Fire dept
This was started when they heard Sherm had been assigned here.
Fake snow, or just good insulation
maybe newer than Sherm
A view of the Spit through the heavy air from Skyline drive above Homer, AK
A little wider angle
Riding back on the old Sterling Hwy we saw this sign. It stands for Daughter In Pillion.
I must like old bridges
and little streams
It must be a fairly deep well, but she did get the water to finally flow.
Several people told us to avoid this place at all cost.
An Electric Girl
Three days ago none of this was visible due to clouds.
Today, I can’t take enough pictures
I love the green against the black and white of the snow patched mountain
These mountains look to be ten or twelve thousand feet tall…
…but I suspect they are really only about half of that.
Mike and Sarah’s favorite breakfast place in Girdwood
After Girdwood comes Alyeska
It is a small ski resort that is open year around.
During the winter you can downhill ski here, and during the summer you downhill mountain bike. You can see some of the zigzag trails for the bikes
It is a very nice resort area.
Ultra modern lift system for both bikes and humans.
Mountains in both directions of this creek.

Sarah’s mountain bike has full front and rear suspension as well as disc brakes front and rear. I guess I haven’t a bike in a while. Or for that matter bought one either, I was shocked at the 3K price tag!
