I broke bread today with my friend Donnie. He has been working his way back from a tough stroke almost a year ago that has kept him off of his bike. His goal is to get back on it.
His DonnieOnTheRoad Blogs have been an inspiration to me for several years an we finally got to meet up and ride last year.
I’m keeping him in my prayers and hope you will to that we will get to ride together again one day! Now why did that nice lady have to take both of these pictures when I had my eyes closed?

I rode past this police action as I was coming into Dover
When I past them, the police had their guns pointed at the suspect. You can still see his hands up out the passenger window.
I have no idea what went down, but was glad they were too busy to give me a speeding ticket!

The women in those days had to tend an acre of garden for each child.
I’d of been training those kids early
Sometimes the men were weavers by trade and would take their loom from town to town on a wagon.
Tobacco was a major crop of the area
After harvest it is hung in the barn from stringers
A fire is then started in the bottom and the doors are closed up. the heat would dry it and the smoke would flavor it.
