A couple of Honda’s at the Hon Dah
Some mild Wild Life
Enjoying their home on the range.
The Little Colorado River originates about 15 or 20 miles from this little town of Greer, AZ.
There are several of these little scrub cabins here in Greer.
I think they are just some old trapper cabins from the 1800’s
It is apparent that the firefighters were really working hard to protect them from being lost to the Wallow Fire. In spite of their efforts, many were lost. It’s hard to believe that was nine years ago.
I might be able to afford to rent this one for a night.
Our intended breakfast encounter.
Sherm is riding past the Rendezvous Cafe where we were hoping to have breakfast.
Unfortunately they weren’t open
These guys greeted us without pandemic mask when we finally made it to an establishment that was serving breakfast. By the time we finally made it, it was called lunch.
After breakfast we decided to ride around the local roads just to see what we might see. Nice old 54? Cadillac
Next to a patriotic 55 Chevy pick up.
A few blocks later we came across a little historical park.
A trapper named Clay Hunter lived in this home for 60 some years
This gentleman has made this little park his life took us on a very informative tour.
This was the original wood stove and rocking chair.
Have you ever put a dime next to something so you would have a perspective of somethings size? Well, here I’m using Sherm as the dime!
The Maytag repairman has never had to touch this
The Saffel Home is an example of the wealthier class at the time.
Today we use window balancers to position the window in a partly open position.
I think these might be more trouble free.
All of those tin inserts had little holes punched in a decorative fashion to allow air flow to the pies.
Kerosene fired cooktop
Apple press
This machine was used to make dog-tags for the army
After leaving Springerville we crossed into Eager where we spotted this rat rod.
It was built by a high school boy. When I first saw it I thought he must have been the one stealing Ape Hangers of of Rouge’s bikes.
Call me Steven, I’ll let you know where it is!
A scenic overview of the Springerville, Eager area.
I think Sherm found a bar of service
True Wild Life
There must be a country western song about this place somewhere.
I’ve now seen Sunrise Lake
As close as I’ve ever been to them!!!
